About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing professional to join BORNEO CROPS SDN BHD in Sandakan, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our supply chain operations. As Purchasing professional, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring and managing the acquisition of materials, goods and services essential to our manufacturing and logistics operations. This role is integral to ensuring we maintain cost efficiency, quality standards and timely delivery across all our procurement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
• Preparing, issuing and managing purchase orders and contracts for materials and services required by the organisation
• Negotiating terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimise cost and value
• Monitoring and tracking inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability whilst minimising excess inventory
• Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices and supplier documentation
• Liaising with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and communicate updates
• Resolving supplier issues, discrepancies and complaints to ensure satisfactory outcomes
• Analysing purchasing data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procurement regulations and quality standards

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management, preferably within manufacturing, transport or logistics sectors
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management and inventory control principles
• Proficiency with procurement software systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
• Understanding of import/export regulations and logistics procedures is advantageous
• Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management or business administration are preferred.
