About the role

Percetakan Konta Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and experienced Purchasing professional to join our dynamic team in Central Seberang Perai, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our supply chain and procurement operations. As a Purchasing specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services that are essential to our manufacturing operations. This role is integral to maintaining cost efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and supporting the strategic objectives of our organisation within the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet our quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the organisation
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations to ensure adequate stock of materials and supplies
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings
• Manage supplier relationships and address any quality or delivery issues promptly
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical procurement standards
• Prepare procurement reports and provide recommendations to senior management
• Liaise with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and timelines
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in purchasing and procurement

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyse costs and identify opportunities for savings
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure
• Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing
• A relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be advantageous
