About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing professional to join our team in Samut Sakhon. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and supplies necessary for our manufacturing operations. The Purchasing role is integral to maintaining our production schedules, controlling costs, and supporting the strategic objectives of Thai Union Group PCL. You will be responsible for sourcing quality products at competitive prices whilst building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

What you'll be doing

• Sourcing and identifying potential suppliers and evaluating their capability to meet organisational requirements
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best value and quality
• Processing purchase orders and managing the procurement workflow from requisition through to delivery
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and inventory data
• Liaising with production and operations teams to understand material requirements and timelines
• Analysing market trends and commodity prices to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement procedures
• Resolving supply chain issues and discrepancies with suppliers

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or a related role within a manufacturing or logistics environment
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships
• Knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management and inventory control practices
• Proficiency with procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Ability to analyse data and make commercially sound decisions
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with the seafood or food processing industry is advantageous
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and cost management
