Purchasing Executive

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Executive to join the procurement team at Pressco Design & Build Sdn. Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As a Purchasing Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement function, ensuring that all materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively to support our manufacturing and logistics operations. Your strategic procurement decisions will directly impact our operational efficiency and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and delivery schedules
• Processing purchase orders and managing the ordering cycle from requisition to receipt
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation in compliance with company policies
• Liaising with internal departments to understand material and equipment requirements
• Tracking supplier performance and addressing any quality or delivery issues
• Maintaining positive relationships with existing suppliers while continuously seeking new sourcing opportunities
• Preparing purchasing reports and providing regular updates on procurement activities and cost savings
• Ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and company purchasing procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management roles
• Proficiency in procurement software and systems, with strong knowledge of inventory management practices
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing purchase orders and maintaining records
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay
• Knowledge of manufacturing or logistics operations is highly desirable
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office and ERP systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• A relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred
