Purchasing Executive

About the role

Purchasing Executive – Direct Materials for a Plastic Injection Moulding / Manufacturing company. Manage purchasing of direct materials, including plastic resins, packaging and trading items, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Direct Material Purchasing required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of direct materials, including plastic resins, packaging and trading items.
• Review MRP/PR requirements and issue purchase orders in a timely manner.
• Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality and reliable delivery.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, MOQ and delivery lead time with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on delivery, quality and material shortages.
• Work closely with Planning, Production, Quality, Warehouse and Finance to ensure continuous material supply.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, supplier information, pricing and purchasing records.
• Support cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives.
• Work with Quality/Engineering on material quality issues and new material qualification.
• Ensure suppliers provide required documents such as COA, COC, SDS and technical specifications.

About you

• Diploma/Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Direct Material Purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in plastic injection moulding or plastic resin purchasing will be an advantage.
• Good negotiation, communication and supplier management skills.
• Good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong follow-up, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
