About the role

Fire Fighter Industry Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchasing Executive to join our procurement team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing and logistics operations. As a Purchasing Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply of materials and components essential to our business operations. This role is integral to ensuring we maintain cost-efficiency, quality standards, and timely delivery of goods across our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing and identifying potential suppliers and vendors to meet the company's procurement requirements
• Obtaining quotations and negotiating prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders whilst ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery
• Managing inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
• Conducting market research to identify new products, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities
• Processing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and reconciling accounts payable records
• Maintaining accurate procurement records, documentation, and maintaining an updated supplier database
• Communicating with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and timelines
• Assisting in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within the manufacturing sector
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in using procurement management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications
• Sound understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of quality assurance standards and compliance requirements is advantageous
