Purchasing Executive

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best quality goods and services at competitive prices
• Processing purchase orders and managing the entire procurement cycle from requisition through to delivery and invoice reconciliation
• Maintaining and developing relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and favourable terms
• Managing inventory levels and coordinating with departmental heads to forecast purchasing needs
• Monitoring supplier performance, quality standards and delivery timelines to ensure compliance with resort requirements
• Preparing and analysing purchasing reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
• Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures and relevant regulations
• Liaising with various departments to understand their purchasing requirements and provide support in product selection
• Maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts and supplier information

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the hospitality industry
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
• Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, best practices and cost management strategies
• Proficiency in purchasing systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Effective communication skills in English & Mandarin; additional languages are advantageous
• A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge of local suppliers and market conditions in Sabah would be beneficial
