Purchasing Executive

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Executive to join the procurement team at Nurachem Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kuantan, Pahang. As a Purchasing Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's supply chain operations, ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services whilst maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards. This position is integral to supporting our manufacturing and logistics operations, directly contributing to the company's operational success and profitability.

What you'll be doing

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting suitable suppliers and vendors based on quality, price, delivery performance and reliability criteria
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities and delivery terms are documented
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favourable payment conditions
• Managing supplier relationships and maintaining effective communication channels to ensure smooth operations
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse and production teams to forecast material requirements
• Tracking and reconciling invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure accuracy
• Resolving procurement-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns and discrepancies
• Maintaining detailed records of purchasing activities, supplier performance and cost analyses
• Liaising with internal departments to understand material and service requirements
• Contributing to the optimisation of procurement processes and cost reduction initiatives

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing or logistics sector
• Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management and inventory control principles
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to achieve value for money in supplier agreements
• Proficiency in using procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of supply chain best practices and quality standards
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and cost optimisation
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in procurement and logistics is advantageous
