Purchasing Executive

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and resourceful Purchasing Executive to join our purchasing team.

Your main responsibility is to source industrial and semiconductor spare parts from China suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, process Purchase Orders (POs), and follow up on delivery schedules.

We welcome candidates with SPM qualifications or higher. Purchasing experience is an advantage, but training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude, communication skills and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

China Supplier Sourcing

• Search and identify suitable suppliers in China using platforms such as 1688, Alibaba, Taobao and other sourcing channels.
• Communicate with Chinese suppliers through WeChat, email and other platforms.
• Request and follow up on supplier quotations, product availability and lead times.
• Compare supplier prices, specifications and delivery terms.
• Negotiate for competitive pricing and identify alternative suppliers when necessary.

Purchasing & Order Processing

• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) after obtaining approval.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, pricing and product specifications before placing orders.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
• Coordinate with the Sales and Engineering teams on purchasing enquiries.

Delivery & Shipment Coordination

• Follow up with suppliers on production progress, order readiness and delivery dates.
• Coordinate shipment arrangements with suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Monitor delivery schedules and update the team on shipment status.
• Follow up on delayed shipments and resolve delivery-related issues.
• Maintain updated PO and delivery tracking reports.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM qualification; Diploma or Degree holders are welcome.

• Fresh graduates and candidates without purchasing experience are encouraged to apply.

• Basic English communication and computer literacy.

• Familiarity with 1688, Alibaba, Taobao or WeChat is an advantage.

• Basic Microsoft Excel skills.

• Responsible, organised and attentive to details.

• Able to work independently, follow up actively and meet deadlines.

• Willingness to learn about industrial and semiconductor components.
