Purchasing Executive

About the role

This role involves assisting the Purchasing Manager in daily administration work, managing purchase requisitions and orders, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure material availability and delivery schedules are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Purchasing Manager in daily administration work.
• Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, material availability, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with production planning and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when required.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and highlight potential material shortages to the Purchasing Manager/requestor.
• Verify supplier quotations, delivery orders, invoices, and material specifications.
• Maintain proper purchasing documentation and filing.
• Perform other purchasing-related duties assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Education: Minimum SPM or Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing purchasing or engineering sector is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems (e.g. SQL).
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese （Mandarin proficiency is preferred to liaise with regional raw material suppliers）.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, vendor management, problem- solving and communication skills.
