Purchasing Intern

About the role

The Purchasing Intern will support the Purchasing Department in sourcing activities, supplier coordination, procurement documentation, and ERP data updates. This internship provides hands-on exposure to procurement processes within the furniture manufacturing industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations
• Support the Purchasing team in preparing Purchase Orders (PO)
• Follow up with suppliers on delivery schedules and shipment status
• Assist in maintaining procurement records and documentation
• Support ERP system data entry and updates
• Coordinate with Project, Material Planning, Production, and Warehouse teams
• Assist in supplier evaluation and performance tracking
• Follow up on quality issues, shortages, and supplier claims
• Prepare procurement reports and summaries
• Perform other administrative and ad hoc duties assigned by the department

About you

• Currently pursuing Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Procurement, Operations Management, or related disciplines
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and willing to learn
• Responsible, organized, and able to work independently
• Internship period of at least 3 months
