Purchasing Manager

About the role

This role involves planning and defining procurement strategy, managing the entire procurement process, administering supplier and vendor relationships, controlling costs, managing contracts, ensuring compliance and risk management, analyzing and reporting on procurement activities, leading team members, and coordinating across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and define procurement strategy, set policies and guidelines for procurement, plan budgets and control procurement expenses, and develop procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Control the entire procurement process (PR, RFQ/RFP, PO), verify document accuracy and procedures, and improve workflow efficiency
• Select, evaluate, and develop suppliers, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and manage the Approved Vendor List (AVL)
• Analyze costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses, manage cost saving and cost avoidance initiatives, and compare prices and terms appropriately
• Prepare and review procurement contracts, monitor contract compliance, and manage legal risks
• Ensure compliance with policies and laws, prevent fraud and conflicts of interest, and manage supplier-related risks
• Prepare procurement reports such as Spend Analysis, monitor KPIs and work performance, and use data to develop strategies
• Set targets and KPIs for the team, develop team skills and capabilities, and manage and monitor work results
• Coordinate with other departments such as Finance, Legal, and Operations, support internal department needs, and act as a liaison between the organization and suppliers
