Purchasing Manager

About the role

Oversee procurement activities within the organization, especially international procurement to support production lines and various projects. Plan procurement strategy, and develop and monitor purchase agreements with suppliers and manufacturers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Production, Warehousing, and Technical Development (or other relevant departments) to identify material needs and key materials such as steel and aluminum from abroad
• Analyze market prices, prepare cost estimates, and manage price risk for raw materials
• Develop and maintain procurement and sourcing processes to meet quality standards, laws, and applicable governance frameworks
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers, maintain stable business relationships, and monitor supplier performance and quality assurance
• Monitor imports, verify shipping documents, customs duties, and warehouse processes according to relevant regulations
• Present procurement reports and project status to senior management, and recommend process and cost improvements
• Coordinate with plants in provincial or metropolitan areas and ensure operations align with corporate policy

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related fields
• At least 5 years of international procurement experience; experience in a publicly listed company will be considered a plus
• Proficiency in computer software, especially SAP; strong MS Office skills
• Experience in sourcing steel and aluminum from abroad, and understanding import/export processes, trade documents, and customs requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking and writing) or other languages beneficial to the role
• Ability to work at plants located in industrial areas
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk management skills
• Analytical thinking, good problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to documents and costs
