Purchasing Manager

1. Manages and supervises Material activities to ensure on-going supply of parts to support Production and maximum profitability for the plant. Ensure Demand & Supply gaps are within acceptable range. Control inventory and meet Inventory target. On-Time Material commitment to inter-customer. Ensure supply problems and shortages are resolved whilst having regard for the total cost of supply.
2. Manages & maintain data quality (Sourcing Rule, PO details, etc).
3. Ensure compliance to Purchasing Procedure, Supply Chain Management (SCM) Direction and QMS Requirement.
4. Identifies, evaluates, and propose the best possible products and/or services to meet SCM needs.
5. Part Count check and balance every quarter. Set deadline for every task that assigned to team members. Declare risk & liabilities, include contingency plan.
6. Check in with employees to ensure they’re making progress. Keep track and review performance metrics.
7. Training new and potential employees , identify strengths and weaknesses. Teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques
8. Monitoring and enhancing performance by providing encouragement and constructive feedback. Conduct yearly Performance Review.
9. Understand audit process & the role of auditee. Work closely with audit team and attend audit meeting as an Auditee. Report audit feedback/findings & propose action/improvement plan
10. Review Supplier Performance. Finalize rating & feedback

Job Requirements

• Candidate would possess a minimum of 10 years Purchasing/Procurement and Sourcing experience in the EMS industry or a comparable manufacturing setting, with a minimum of 5 years Supervisory experience.
• Candidate should possess a Bachelors' degree in business management and/or other formal management training.
• Strong understanding and experience in purchasing operation activities.
• Experience with MRP system- SAP,ORACLE, etc.
• Skilled at administering policies in an equitable fashion.
• Skilled at employee relations including performance management and employee motivation.
• Strong knowledge of both direct material and indirect material sourcing & purchasing activities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Ability to solve supply chain issues
• Skilled at providing direction for the team
• Ability to identify the cause of operational issues and institute appropriate corrective actions.
