Summary/Objective

The ability to negotiate and network with vendors is a must to ensure ideal prices and optimal terms on products. Coach and develop the team to the best performance possible.

Essential Functions

Reviews and recommends improved operating policies and procedures. Ensuring the proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes.

• Manages the vendor selection process, assesses vendor capabilities, develops alternative sources, and evaluates vendor performance, negotiates price and delivery.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Purchases and manages inventory.
• Recommends major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
• Supports all branch locations with purchasing and inventory control.
• Communicates regularly with Product Specialists, keeping abreast of market conditions, competition, new products, and new agencies.
• Monitors vendor rebate programs.
• Produces weekly/monthly reports and statistics as required.
• Participates actively on various quality and steering committees.
• Support all company-endorsed product lines with primary focus on I-Mark manufacturers.
• Works closely with all internal departments, combining individual efforts to better serve the customer.
• Adhere to all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Performs other duties as obvious or assigned.
