Job Description Purchasing Manager – India

Location: Bangalore

The Purchasing Manager – India is responsible for managing and developing the purchasing function across cosmetics manufacturing, spa operations, and new projects. The role ensures materials, packaging, supplies, equipment, and services are sourced to the required specifications, budgets, quality standards, and timelines, while building a reliable supplier network and establishing efficient purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

- Production & Material Planning: Plan raw material and packaging requirements against production schedules and bills of materials, monitoring stock levels, lead times, reorder levels, safety stock, and potential shortages.

- Raw Materials & Packaging: Source approved cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, packaging, labels, containers, and operational supplies in line with product specifications, quality requirements, and production needs.

- Supplier Development & Management: Identify, qualify, and develop reliable manufacturers, distributors, and vendors, maintaining strong supplier relationships and establishing alternative sources for critical materials.

- Commercial & Cost Management: Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions to secure the best overall value.

- Quality & Compliance: Coordinate supplier qualification, samples, technical approvals, certificates, specifications, INCI information, safety documentation, shelf life, batch traceability, and other requirements with Quality, Regulatory, and Product Development.

- Purchase Orders & Logistics: Manage purchase orders from approval through supplier confirmation, delivery, receipt, and invoice reconciliation, working closely with Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, Production, and Quality.

- Procurement Setup & Team Leadership: Lead the setup and rollout of purchasing processes, supplier records, ERP controls, reporting, and procurement trackers while managing, supporting, and developing the purchasing team.

Requirement: Candidates must already be living and working in Bengaluru.
