Purchasing Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our organization.

Overview

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all procurement activities to ensure the timely acquisition of quality goods and services at the best overall value.

This role oversees supplier relationships, contract negotiations, inventory optimization, cost-control initiatives, and compliance with company purchasing policies while supporting the operational and strategic needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders and procurement activities related to construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
• Provide strategic recommendations that deliver the best value for the hotel, considering supplier performance, product quality, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and service agreements, and identify the most effective sources of supply outside of established corporate purchasing programs.
• Monitor purchasing activities to control costs, eliminate unnecessary expenditures, and optimize procurement efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to maintain appropriate inventory levels based on operational demands and seasonal fluctuations.
• Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of products, materials, and services in alignment with company standards and objectives.
• Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with department heads to forecast purchasing needs and ensure timely availability of goods and services.
• Resolve vendor-related issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and contractual disputes.
• Lead and develop the purchasing team by setting performance objectives, providing training, and promoting continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline (desirable)
• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing and procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Hospitality industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement systems, and purchasing best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
