Purchasing Manager (FMCG Trading)

The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with a Singapore-headquartered trading and distribution company with a presence across Asia-Pacific and selected international markets, and we are hiring a Purchasing Manager to drive sourcing and supplier development for wine and liquor categories, with a focus on expanding the supplier network, securing competitive commercial terms, and ensuring reliable product availability. The role will also work closely with teams in China and Hong Kong on sourcing and purchasing activities.

• Full-time, permanent opportunity
• Work location: East region
• Work Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am - 6pm
• Occassional business travel overseas required (10-20% frequency)

The Job:

• Work closely with the Sales team on product requirements, quantities and target pricing, and source suitable suppliers to fulfil business needs.
• Develop new supplier channels and alternative sources to improve product availability and supply reliability.
• Source and procure wine, spirits and other premium consumer products from international suppliers and brand principals.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and commercial arrangements with suppliers across different markets.
• Identify new brands, products and sourcing opportunities to support business growth.
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while continuously expanding the supplier network.
• Monitor market pricing and product availability to support timely purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure purchasing requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time.

The Talent:

• Experience in purchasing, sourcing or supplier development within trading, distribution, FMCG or related industries.
• Prior exposure to wine, spirits, premium consumer goods or travel retail would be highly advantageous.
• Strong supplier sourcing and commercial negotiation experience.
• Ability to develop supplier networks from the ground up across international markets.
• Experience dealing with brand principals, distributors, wholesalers or trading partners is highly advantageous
• Commercially driven, resourceful and able to work independently in a lean environment.
