About the role

Cherenz Global Mfg., Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our procurement team on a full-time basis. Based in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila, this role is pivotal to our supply chain operations and will directly impact our manufacturing efficiency and cost management objectives. As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services that support our manufacturing operations, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality, reliability, and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Manage foreign supplier relations and track shipments of imported raw materials, spare parts, and appliance components.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to monitor shipping schedules, Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW), container arrivals, and customs clearance documents (Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List).
• Monitor international lead times and shipments to prevent stockouts and production line downtime.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate contract terms, pricing, and credit lines with local suppliers for raw materials and factory supplies.
• Conduct supplier performance assessments based on material quality, delivery timeliness, and price competitiveness.
• Review purchase requisitions and generate official Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP system.
• Ensure PO details strictly match agreed quotations, material specifications, and delivery dates.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies, damaged deliveries, and quantity shortages directly with suppliers.
• Match and reconcile POs, Receiving Reports (RR), and supplier invoices.
• Prepare and endorse payment requests (Telegraphic Transfers, Letters of Credit, checks, post-dated checks) to Finance and Accounting according to agreed credit terms.
• Monitor supplier account balances and ensure timely payment processing to maintain strong vendor relations.

Qualification & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 2-4 years of professional experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain principles, and inventory control systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and purchasing management software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple purchase orders and deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing is advantageous
