Purchasing Officer

About the role

This is a Procurement role responsible for end-to-end purchasing activities, supplier management, and supply chain optimization. You will manage purchase requisitions, source suppliers, negotiate pricing, and maintain compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements while collaborating across warehouse, production, engineering, finance and PMC teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions, source suppliers, request quotations, and accurately issue purchase orders for production materials, indirect goods, tooling and factory services
• Evaluate vendor performance on cost, quality, and delivery speed while mitigating shortages and resolving shipping or invoice discrepancies
• Secure competitive pricing and lead times to identify cost-saving opportunities and support company budget targets
• Partner closely with warehouse, production, engineering, finance and PMC team to maintain seamless material planning and resolve logistical bottlenecks
• Maintain flawless purchasing record (invoices, B/L, packing lists) in company SAP systems in compliance with Malaysian regulatory and audit requirements
• Participate in team initiatives to streamline purchasing workflows, reduce lead times, and optimize supply chain efficiency

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing support
• Familiar with SAP or ERP purchasing system is preferred
• Good command in English, Mandarin and Malay
• Familiarity with Malaysian import documentation, customs procedures and local regulatory compliances
