Purchasing Officer

About the role
PT. TEMAS TBK is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer or above to join our Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory team. This is a full-time position based in North Jakarta, Jakarta. As a Purchasing professional, you will play a critical role in optimising our supply chain operations, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services across our manufacturing and logistics operations. This position is instrumental in supporting the company's operational efficiency and financial performance.

What you'll be doing

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, delivery and reliability criteria
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the most favourable conditions whilst maintaining quality standards
• Preparing and managing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to vendors
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with operations to ensure adequate stock availability without overstock situations
• Tracking shipments and managing logistics coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Conducting market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and new suppliers
• Resolving procurement-related issues, including supplier performance problems and delivery delays
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all purchasing transactions and vendor communications
• Collaborating with finance, operations and quality teams to ensure procurement objectives align with company goals
• Managing budgets and controlling expenditures within assigned procurement categories
• Preparing reports on procurement performance, spending analysis and vendor performance metrics

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement or related supply chain roles, preferably in manufacturing or logistics environments
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management and inventory control principles
• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation and contract management
• Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal departments and external suppliers
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities whilst meeting strict deadlines
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations is advantageous
• Professional certification such as APICS CSCP or similar procurement certification is preferred
