Purchasing Officer (Construction)

About the role

The Moment Group is seeking a Purchasing Officer (Construction) to join our procurement team in a full-time capacity. Based in Makati City, Metro Manila, this role is instrumental in supporting our construction operations through effective procurement management. As Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring construction materials, equipment, and services that are essential to the success of our projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that our construction activities operate efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all relevant standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

• Sourcing and identifying reliable suppliers and vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders, requests for quotation (RFQs), and tender documents
• Negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value for money
• Managing supplier relationships and maintaining a current database of approved vendors
• Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Conducting quality inspections of received materials and ensuring compliance with specifications
• Processing invoices, delivery notes, and resolving any discrepancies or disputes
• Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
• Liaising with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to understand procurement requirements
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and contributing to improved procurement processes
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations

Qualifications:

• Over 3 years of proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, Procurement Specialist, or similar role, ideally within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry practices (F&B, Retail, FMCG)
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms
• Proficiency in procurement systems and software, as well as Microsoft Office applications
• Outstanding organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple purchase orders and suppliers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors
• Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Sound understanding of quality control principles and inspection procedures
• Knowledge of inventory management practices and supply chain processes
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating within a team environment
• A professional approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Preferably with experience in managing supplier contracts and performance metrics
• Open to work onsite in Makati
