Purchasing Officer (Mandarin Speaker)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer who is fluent in Mandarin to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, managing procurement activities, and maintaining strong relationships with local and overseas vendors, particularly suppliers from China. This role requires excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and develop qualified suppliers.
• Request quotations, compare prices, and negotiate the best commercial terms.
• Issue Purchase Orders (PO) and monitor order fulfilment.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and product quality.
• Communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking suppliers regarding orders, specifications, and shipment schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with relevant departments.
• Resolve purchasing-related issues, including delivery delays and quality concerns.
• Prepare purchasing reports, cost analyses, and supplier performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Good command of English is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience dealing with suppliers in China.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and international purchasing.
• Familiarity with cost analysis and supplier performance evaluation.
