Purchasing / Procurement Specialist

About the role

This role involves assisting in identifying and sourcing reliable suppliers for materials and services, and managing purchasing operations across multiple departments including Receiving, Dispatch, Utility, and Preventive Maintenance (PM).

Key responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and sourcing reliable suppliers for materials and services
• Collect and organize purchase requests from different departments
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in placing purchase orders based on stock-on-hand (SOH) reports
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (P.O.), ensuring accuracy in pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery timelines, and necessary documentation
• Assist in price negotiations and gathering quotations from suppliers
• Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or discrepancies
• Verify received deliveries against purchase orders to confirm quantity and quality
• Coordinate with Accounting for invoice verification and payment processing
• Maintain updated records of suppliers, purchase requests, and price lists

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the food manufacturing industry
• Basic knowledge of inventory management and supplier coordination
• Relevant certification in purchasing or procurement is an advantage
