Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. Duties

• Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and develop sourcing strategies
• Utilize ERP systems
• Conduct direct negotiations with vendors to secure favorable pricing, terms, and contracts while maintaining positive vendor relationships
• Manage supplier performance evaluations and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets for procurement trends, pricing analysis, and inventory management insights
• Support production planning by aligning purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules and demand forecasts
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and vendor communications within purchasing management systems

Skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems
• Strong understanding of supply chain management principles such as inventory control, logistics, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and sourcing strategies
• Excellent vendor relationship management skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts through direct negotiation procurement techniques
• Experience with purchasing management systems supported by technical teams to streamline procurement workflows
• Familiarity with accounting software for processing invoices and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
• Ability to analyze data using Excel for pricing trends, inventory levels, and procurement performance metrics
• Knowledge of merchandising practices and production planning to optimize supply chain efficiency
