Purchasing Specialist (Project-Based)

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and evaluating reliable suppliers of water station supplies and equipment, including potential wholesale suppliers from China. The role aims to secure quality products at competitive prices, establish dependable supplier relationships, and support the company's procurement and supply requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and research local and international suppliers, particularly manufacturers and wholesalers in China, offering water station supplies, equipment, and related materials
• Source products in bulk at competitive prices to support the company's operational and business expansion needs
• Assess potential suppliers based on product quality, pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ), production capacity, reliability, and delivery lead times
• Negotiate product costs, payment terms, shipping arrangements, and other purchasing conditions to obtain the best possible deals
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding product specifications, quotations, samples, order processing, shipping, customs documentation, and delivery arrangements
• Compare available products, specifications, and suppliers to ensure suitability for water station operations and business requirements
• Verify supplier legitimacy, business credentials, product quality, and track record before recommending or proceeding with transactions
• Prepare supplier lists, canvass reports, price comparisons, quotations, and purchasing recommendations for management review
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers to support future purchasing requirements and long-term business partnerships
• Provide regular updates on sourcing progress, supplier options, estimated costs, and procurement recommendations

About you

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supplier sourcing, preferably involving water station supplies, water refilling equipment, and related wholesale products
• Experience sourcing products from manufacturers, distributors, or wholesalers, preferably in China
• Knowledge of bulk purchasing, supplier canvassing, price negotiation, and procurement processes
• Familiarity with international shipping, importation procedures, customs requirements, and related costs is an advantage
• Strong research, negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills
• Ability to compare quotations, evaluate supplier credibility, and identify cost-effective purchasing options
• Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of preparing clear procurement reports and documentation
• Able to work independently and deliver sourcing results within the project timeline
• Must have an established network of relevant suppliers or the ability to identify and develop supplier contacts efficiently
