Purchasing Staff

About the role

This role involves identifying raw material requirements for the company, sourcing and selecting potential suppliers, analyzing and comparing supplier offers, negotiating for the best prices, issuing purchase orders, managing purchasing administration and documentation, and preparing purchasing reports.

Key responsibilities

• Identify raw material requirements needed by the company
• Search for and select potential suppliers to meet company needs
• Conduct analysis and comparison of supplier offers
• Negotiate to obtain the best prices from suppliers
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (PO) to suppliers
• Manage purchasing administration and documentation
• Prepare purchasing reports

About you

• Minimum D3 qualification in Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Studies, Administration, Management, Logistics/Transport or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in purchasing; import experience preferred
• Experience in the steel industry preferred
• Understanding of supply management and purchasing processes
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Problem solving, analytical thinking and leadership capabilities
• Honest, persistent, active, detail-oriented and thorough
• Advanced proficiency in data processing (MS Excel Advanced)
• Good English language skills (Mandarin is a plus)
