Job Summary
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all procurement activities. This position oversees the purchasing team, manages supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, ensures timely procurement of parts, equipment, fuels, consumables, services, and maintains inventory levels necessary to support safe and efficient operations. The Purchasing Supervisor works closely with Operations, Inventory Management Supervisor, Maintenance, Fleet Management, Mining Operations, and Accounting to ensure cost-effective purchasing practices while meeting production and service demands.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support daily purchasing activities and purchasing personnel.
• Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Purchase fleet parts, heavy equipment components, mining supplies, fuel, lubricants, tires, tools, safety equipment, and operating materials.
• Develop and maintain approved vendor lists and supplier performance metrics.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to identify material and equipment requirements.
• Ensure timely procurement of emergency and critical replacement parts to minimize equipment downtime.
• Analyze spending trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor contracts, and procurement documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, and applicable regulations.
• Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting related to procurement activities.
• Resolve vendor disputes, quality concerns, delivery issues, and invoice discrepancies.
• Promote safe work practices and support company safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience supporting trucking, mining, construction, aggregates, heavy equipment, or material handling operations strongly preferred.
• Experience purchasing heavy equipment parts, maintenance supplies, fuels, and operational materials preferred.

Pay: $85,000.00 per year
