Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for supervising the company's purchasing and procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and efficient acquisition of goods, raw materials, equipment, and services required by the business. The role involves supplier management, price negotiation, purchase order monitoring, inventory coordination, and ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily purchasing activities and ensure timely procurement of required goods, materials, equipment, and services
• Review purchase requisitions and ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper approval before processing
• Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and order status
• Ensure that purchased items meet the company's quality standards and specifications
• Monitor purchasing costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain a pool of qualified and reliable suppliers
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations based on quality, pricing, reliability, and service
• Coordinate with Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and other departments to ensure adequate availability of supplies
• Monitor stock levels and purchasing requirements to prevent shortages and overstocking

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field
• At least 3–5 years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience, preferably with supervisory experience
• Experience in the food and beverage, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or FMCG industry is an advantage
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, price negotiation, cost analysis, and purchase order management
• Knowledge of inventory management, procurement procedures, and supplier evaluation
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other purchasing or inventory management systems
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and capable of meeting deadlines
