Role: PV Designer

Location: Remote (Northeast preferred)

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

Renewyx is representing a Northeast-based solar EPC that designs and builds distributed generation, community solar and utility-scale projects. Because they own both the design and the construction, the people drawing the plans work alongside the teams building them. Designers see their work go from a drawing to energized, and they get a say in how it gets built.

They are seeking a PV Designer to join their team. You will work across a mix of community, DG and utility-scale projects, producing layouts and construction ready drawings in AutoCAD and running energy models in PVsyst. With a pipeline spanning several project types, you will not be drawing the same site twice. You will work closely with engineers and project teams, so your designs need to hold up in the field as well as on paper.

Strong AutoCAD and PVsyst skills are firm requirements for this role. The team needs a designer who can work independently in both and has already produced designs for real solar projects. If your experience is mostly outside solar, this one is unlikely to be the right fit.

This is a great move for a designer who wants variety, exposure to projects at different scales, and a front-row seat to the build. The team is open to remote candidates for the right person, though they would love someone based in the Northeast.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

• 4+ years of PV design experience on community, DG or utility-scale solar projects
• Advanced AutoCAD skills, with a strong track record of producing site layouts and construction drawings
• Advanced PVsyst skills, including energy modelling and system optimization
• A solid grasp of how solar projects are built, so your designs work in the field
• The ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once
• Clear communication and a collaborative style with engineers and project teams
• Engineering degree with FE or EIT status preferred, though not required
