We are a growing Solar Energy and Renewable Energy company providing solar panels, battery energy storage systems, and comprehensive solar energy solutions.

As we continue to expand our solar project portfolio, we are looking for a PV Solution Designer / Solar PV Design Engineer who will be responsible for developing technically sound and commercially viable photovoltaic (PV) system designs and supporting projects from feasibility and design through construction and commissioning.

Job Summary

The PV Solution Designer / Solar PV Design Engineer will be responsible for conducting PV system simulations and energy assessments, preparing conceptual and detailed PV plant designs, supporting technical due diligence and feasibility studies, preparing technical tender documents, and providing technical support throughout project development and implementation.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical design, PVsyst, technical drawings, equipment sizing, and applicable local and international standards.

Key Responsibilities1. PV Simulation & Project Assessment

• Conduct PVsyst simulations, Energy Yield Assessments (EYA), and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) analysis to assess project viability.
• Conduct technical due diligence for prospective PV projects.
• Evaluate technical risks, project constraints, and design requirements.
• Ensure designs and technical assessments comply with applicable local and international standards.

2. PV Plant Design & Engineering

Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings for PV plants, including but not limited to:

• Electrical Single-Line Diagrams (SLD)
• PV array layouts
• Mounting structure layouts
• Inverter layouts
• Grounding grid layouts
• Lightning protection layouts
• Equipment sizing and specifications
• Other electrical and engineering drawings required for project development
• Ensure designs are prepared in accordance with applicable international standards such as IEEE, IEC, NEC, and NESC, as well as relevant Philippine standards and practices, including PGC, PDC, and PEC Volumes 1 & 2.

3. Technical Tender & Bid Evaluation

• Prepare comprehensive technical tender documents for PV projects.
• Develop technical specifications and requirements for equipment, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations and provide technical recommendations to support supplier and subcontractor selection.
• Review technical proposals, drawings, specifications, and equipment data submitted by suppliers and contractors.

4. VRE & Technical Compliance

• Coordinate and ensure compliance with applicable Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) requirements for the PV portion of the project.
• Review project designs and technical documentation for compliance with applicable grid and electrical requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding technical compliance.

5. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders throughout the design and development phases.
• Monitor project progress and technical deliverables.
• Review designs and technical submissions to identify potential issues.
• Address technical concerns and recommend practical and technically viable solutions.
• Prepare and communicate technical reports, recommendations, and project updates.

6. Site Survey & Feasibility Studies

• Conduct site surveys and desktop studies for prospective solar PV projects.
• Assess site conditions and determine usable and non-usable areas for PV development.
• Evaluate site constraints and technical risks that may affect project development.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, feasibility inputs, and technical recommendations.

7. Factory Acceptance Testing

• Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for selected substation and other major electrical equipment, as required by the company.
• Review test results and technical documentation to ensure equipment meets project specifications.

8. Construction & Commissioning Support

• Provide technical support during project construction.
• Review construction-related technical concerns and provide design clarification when required.
• Support testing and commissioning activities as required.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure that implementation follows approved designs and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Relevant experience in solar PV system design, PV plant engineering, or renewable energy projects.
• Strong experience with PVsyst and solar energy yield assessment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of LCOE analysis and technical due diligence is an advantage.
• Experience preparing PV plant electrical and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical system design, equipment sizing, and specifications.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, PGC, PDC, and PEC standards and requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other engineering design software.
• Experience with PV simulation/design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, Aurora Solar, or equivalent.
• Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Willing to conduct site visits and field assignments when required.
• Willing to work on-site in Quezon City.
