Night Shift - 7pm to 7am on a 2/2/3 rotation

Your Night, Reimagined

At 7:00 pm, you take the helm of PVCO pipe production. You kick off the shift huddle, align the team on safety priorities, scan line performance in SAP, and walk the floor to confirm changeover readiness. Through the night you’re solving problems at the source with 5-Why, coordinating with Maintenance on a planned improvement, and coaching a new operator through start-up checks. By sunrise, accurate SPC charts and a clean, organized area reflect a productive, safe, and efficient shift.

What You’ll Own

• Direct nightly production activities to achieve safety, quality, and throughput targets.
• Champion Westlake Pipe & Fittings safety standards; lead toolbox talks, trainings, inspections, and incident investigations with follow-ups.
• Apply structured problem solving (5-Why and related tools) to eliminate root causes.
• Balance staffing, monitor workflow, and tune line settings to minimize downtime.
• Complete precise shift documentation: reports, SAP production entries, and SPC charts.
• Offer hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting for production teammates.
• Collaborate with Maintenance/Engineering on equipment upgrades and modifications.
• Lead efficient product changeovers to reduce disruption and waste.
• Track and act on key metrics: output, scrap, material use, and regrind consumption.
• Coach, develop, and manage performance for team members.
• Support employee relations: attendance, overtime planning, and corrective actions.
• Keep housekeeping to a high standard and enforce plant cleanliness expectations.
• Participate in supervisor and operations meetings as needed.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years in manufacturing/production; PVC/PVCO extrusion experience preferred.
• 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Solid grasp of production processes, workflow optimization, and operations performance.
• Working knowledge of safety protocols and manufacturing best practices.
• Familiarity with SAP, SPC, or related production reporting systems preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and sound decision-making.
• Clear communicator with proven team leadership skills.

Physical Demands

Expect frequent standing and walking, along with regular verbal communication. You may use hands extensively; reach; climb; balance; and at times stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting ranges from routine light loads to occasional moderate lifting, typical of a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to moving equipment, fluctuating temperatures, higher noise levels, and airborne particles. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
