Python Backend Engineer (Data Products & Agent Enablement)

We are looking for Senior Python Engineer.

About the Project

Join a Pharma industry initiative building a platform where AI agents work directly with enterprise data — turning business questions into SQL queries, surfacing insights, and delivering answers through an agentic interface. This project sits at the intersection of data engineering and AI engineering: you’ll build the infrastructure that lets agents talk to Snowflake in natural language, as part of a real production platform rather than a prototype or demo.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services and APIs in Python
• Work with Snowflake — from SQL optimization to integrating Cortex Analyst and Text-to-SQL solutions
• Develop agentic AI functionality using LangChain or similar frameworks: agent skills, tools, and API integrations
• Do prompt engineering to improve agent accuracy and reliability
• Implement quality and cost monitoring through MLflow and DeepEval
• Optimize performance and manage cost across the platform

Requirements

Must have:

• 4+ years of experience in Python backend / data platform engineering
• Strong expertise in Snowflake and SQL
• Hands-on agentic AI development experience (LangChain or similar)
• Experience with prompt engineering
• DataOps / Data Platform engineering background
• Solid understanding of building and maintaining production APIs and backend services

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Semantic Layer or Knowledge Graph concepts
• RAG or broader agentic AI implementation experience
• AWS experience
• Pharma commercial experience
