Bonhill Partners are currently supporting a global quantitative trading firm in their search for a Python Developer.

Role: Python Developer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and systems, primarily using Python, to support fundamental data analysis and inform trading strategies.
• Build, optimise, and maintain large-scale data infrastructure using Rust, supporting storage, compute, and networking systems that process petabytes of data and handle tens of thousands of concurrent requests.
• Work closely with data scientists, portfolio managers, and traders to understand business and data requirements, translating them into scalable, high-performance technical solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or infrastructure development.
• Strong expertise in network programming, multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, with proficiency in Python and either Rust or C++.
• Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to detect anomalies, investigate data quality issues, and derive meaningful insights.
• Understanding of financial trading environments, including different asset classes and trade execution processes.
• Experience with modern data lake architectures and technologies, including Apache Arrow, Parquet, and Iceberg, as well as data processing tools such as DuckDB and Acero, and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
