A Software Engineer opportunity has opened up at an innovative early-stage company working at the intersection of technology and clinical science. The Role

The Python Software Developer will take on full-stack responsibilities spanning both front-end and back-end development, including integration work with the company's data pipeline. Day-to-day work will include building customer-facing features as well as improving dashboards, visualisation tools, and contributing to machine learning initiatives including boundary detection for cancer cell analysis.

The expectation is clear: by day one you are committing code, and within 90 days you will have shipped something meaningful, whether that is a customer-facing initiative or a lab workflow automation.

This is a US-based early-stage company operating in the life sciences technology space, developing software that supports clinical trial workflows and laboratory processes. The team is small by design, which means the work each engineer does has a direct and tangible impact on both customers and outcomes. Candidates can either work from their San Mateo or Salt Lake City offices.

What experience does the Software Engineer need?

• Strong Python skills are essential; familiarity with at least one cloud platform (GCP or AWS) is expected, and exposure to React and TypeScript would be advantageous
• A track record of shipping software; strong internship experience from companies with high engineering standards is equally welcome
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, with a practical mindset around when to build, when to reuse, and when automation genuinely adds value
• Experience working with large, complex data sets is essential, with a background in scientific data such as bioinformatics being a strong plus
