Python Django Developer (Preferred with banking experience)

Location: Changi Business Park
Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable, subject to performance and headcount)
Salary Range: $5,000 to $8,000 per month
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, office hours

About the Role

A leading bank in Singapore is looking for an experienced Application Developer to join its Technology Risk Governance team. You’ll design, build and maintain an in-house risk management application using Python Django, from backend services and REST APIs to the front-end UI. The application computes risk metrics, runs workflows and generates dashboards. This role suits a hands-on full-stack developer with banking experience who enjoys working in an Agile team and wants to build secure, high-quality systems that matter to the bank.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop and maintain the risk management application using Python Django.
2. Build secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services, following software engineering, testing and release management standards.
3. Implement complex business logic, such as risk metric calculations, dashboards, workflows and data quality checks.
4. Develop and maintain responsive UI components using HTML and CSS, and make sure they work well across browsers.
5. Work closely with Business Analysts and UX teams to deliver intuitive user interfaces.
6. Work in an Agile team to understand user requirements and help the product evolve.
7. Maintain software quality standards, including clean code, code coverage, system performance and security.
8. Support code migration, deployment and release management through the standard CI/CD pipeline.
9. Provide L3 support to the L1/L2 production support teams and resolve issues within SLA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of software development experience
• At least 3 years of experience working on banking or financial systems (required)
• Strong hands-on experience with the Python Django framework
• Proven experience with MariaDB/MySQL in high-transaction systems
• Experience building secure REST APIs
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with Linux environments, Git, and NGINX/Apache
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, Java, Angular, React or cloud platforms is an advantage
• Awareness of security practices such as encryption, authentication and fraud prevention is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to data accuracy
• Able to work in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
