About the Position:

Our Cleint is seeking a Python Software Engineer with strong expertise in Django and serverless architectures on AWS to join our client’s platform engineering team building genomic data and clinical workflow applications.

In this role, you will design and develop high-performance systems using Python and Django, while working across cloud-native, serverless architectures on AWS. You will play a key role in driving system scalability, reliability, and performance, contributing to complex data workflows that power genomic and diagnostic data processing at scale.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influence architectural decisions, and help elevate engineering standards through best practices in system design, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement complex features using Python and Django, including REST APIs, background workers, serverless functions, and data migration tools
• Build and operate event-driven, serverless systems on AWS — Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions,SQS/SNS, and EventBridge — for scalable data processing pipelines Own end-to-end resolution of complex production issues across relational databases, queues, caching layers, and cloud storage systems
• Drive performance optimizations across system layers — database queries, indexing strategies, caching, and asynchronous processing throughput
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and design sessions to elevate overall engineering quality
• Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines, build reliability, deployment safety, and test coverage across multi-region environments
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements

Qualifications & Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in Python backend development, with strong expertise in Django.
• Strong experience with AWS Serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS,
• Hands-on experience building REST APIs and scalable backend services.
• Step Functions, and EventBridge.
• Good understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, including database design and query optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Docker, and AWS deployments.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support skills.
• Good understanding of system scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with code reviews and technical design discussions.
