About The Role We are seeking a skilled Python Software Systems Engineer to join our dynamic, fully remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and maintaining our platform to enhance its speed, security, and reliability. Your responsibilities will include delivering new features, optimizing deployment processes, and ensuring system availability. You will work closely with a small team of developers and operators, tackling complex problems through innovative solutions and best practices in DevOps and Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote setting
• Commitment to producing robust, testable, and industry-standard code
• Strong programming experience using Python or other high-level programming languages
• Proficiency in system scripting with Python, Bash, or similar tools
• Experience with configuring and administering production services
• Knowledge of developing and maintaining staging, testing, and development environments
• Experience with software lifecycle automation, including Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to system failures

Nice To Have Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale or complex multi-tenant web applications
• Knowledge of parallelization, code optimization, and Big Data operations
• Familiarity with system deployment and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet

Responsibilities

• Contribute to code quality through comprehensive unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and system design using Python
• Configure, deploy, and maintain production services, developing procedures for seamless updates and upgrades without compromising system availability
• Develop and maintain staging, testing, and developer environments to ensure consistency and reliability across development cycles
• Automate software lifecycle processes to support Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines
• Participate in on-call rotations, providing prompt diagnosis and resolution of system failures to ensure high availability
• Collaborate with team members to explore innovative solutions, optimize system performance, and implement best practices in DevOps and system administration
• Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational consistency
