QA & Operations Support Officer

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance (QA) Officer is responsible for performing system-based quality assurance checks on completed water metering work orders, with a primary focus on data accuracy, photographic validation, and compliance with defined QA processes.

The role involves reviewing and reconciling multiple data sources, including system-entered data, handwritten meter reads, and photographic evidence, and updating or rectifying QA records accordingly to ensure accurate and compliant job outcomes.

While quality assurance is the core function of the role, the position may also support related operational and administrative activities during periods of lower QA volume. This is a non‑customer‑facing, remote role providing operational QA support to Client delivery teams.

Please note that this role is initially offered as a 3-month contract. However, there may be an opportunity for it to convert to ongoing employment, subject to your performance and business requirements.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review high volumes of completed metering work orders in accordance with defined QA processes and checklists.

• Compare and validate system-entered meter data against handwritten meter reads and photographic evidence.

• Update, correct, and finalise QA records where discrepancies are identified, in line with approved procedures.

• Ensure all QA outcomes meet client contractual requirements and internal quality standards.

• Identify non-compliant or incomplete work and escalate findings to onshore teams for rectification.

• Accurately update job statuses and QA results within relevant systems.

• Prepare daily QA completion and exception reports.

• Maintain strict adherence to data integrity, confidentiality, and audit requirements.

Requirements and Skills

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a quality assurance, data validation, administration, or operational support role
• Experience in quality assurance or compliance checking within a field services, utilities, construction, or infrastructure environment is highly desirable
• Experience working with Australian businesses in an offshore capacity is highly desirable
• Experience reviewing photographic evidence as part of a QA or compliance process is highly desirable
• Familiarity with job management or field service software (e.g. Fulcrum, AroFlo, simPRO, ServiceM8, or similar) is highly desirable
• Understanding of water metering, plumbing, or utilities infrastructure processes is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy when reviewing data and documentation
• Ability to cross-reference multiple data sources (system records, photographs, written notes) and identify inconsistencies
• Proficient with computer systems and confident learning new software platforms
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage a consistent workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Professional, reliable, and process-driven approach to work

This is a work-from-home, bring-your-own-equipment (BYOE) role. Applicants are required to provide their own work dedicated equipment that meets the following Hardware and Software Requirements:

• Laptop Set up and Windows OS environment

o     Minimum: Intel Core i5 8th gen and above, or equivalent

o     Operating System: Windows 11 Home/Pro — 64-bit (Genuine)

• Memory: 8GB RAM or more

• Anti-virus installed on the device

• Internet: Minimum 100 Mbps (DSL/Fibre only). LTE accepted as backup connection only.

• Laptop battery: Must last at least 1 hour on a full charge

• Power backup required

• Headset with microphone and noise cancellation (Jabra or Plantronics recommended)

• Dual monitors required
