QA Automation Engineer

• The QA Automation Engineer will own the development and continuous improvement of automated testing capabilities for the Saganova OTT platform across Web, Mobile, TV and connected-device applications.
• The role will work closely with Engineering, QA, Production Operations to automate critical user journeys, regression testing, API testing, playback scenarios and cross-device validation.
• This is not primarily a manual QA role. The role requires someone with strong hands-on automation engineering experience who can design reusable automation frameworks, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

Role Summary

• You will design and maintain Saganova’s test automation framework and automate critical platform journeys across Web, Android, iOS, Android TV, Fire TV and future connected-device platforms.
• You will build parameter-driven and reusable test scenarios, integrate automated testing into the development and release lifecycle, enable execution across multiple devices, and provide clear reporting of failures and release quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the Saganova test automation framework.
• Develop automated- functional, regression and smoke test suites.
• Automate Web, Android and iOS application testing.
• Build automation capabilities for Android TV and Fire TV applications.
• Progressively extend automation to Apple TV and other connected-device platforms.
• Automate critical OTT user journeys including login, registration, profile management, content discovery and playback.
• Automate video playback scenarios including play, pause, resume, seek, restart and Continue Watching.
• Build parameter-driven tests that can execute common scenarios across different users, content and devices.
• Automate API testing and backend service validation.
• Develop reusable automation components and test utilities.
• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines.
• Enable automated testing against physical devices and device-lab infrastructure.
• Support parallel execution of tests across multiple devices where appropriate.
• Implement automated screenshots, logs, video capture and failure evidence.
• Produce clear automated test reports and execution dashboards.
• Work with QA to identify regression scenarios suitable for automation.
• Support network interruption, application restart and session recovery testing.
• Maintain automation code in Git/GitHub and participate in code reviews.
• Maintain automation documentation and execution runbooks.

Required Skills

• 4–6 years of hands-on QA Automation experience
• Strong experience with Appium for mobile application automation
• Experience with Playwright or equivalent for web automation
• Strong API automation/testing experience
• Hands-on programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Python
• Experience designing and maintaining reusable automation frameworks
• Experience automating Android and iOS applications
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience testing on real physical devices / multiple device types
• Git/GitHub and Jira

Preferred Skills

• Experience testing OTT / video streaming applications
• Experience with Android TV / Fire TV / Apple TV testing or automation
• Understanding of HLS/DASH, DRM and video playback testing
• Experience with device labs or device farms
• Experience with long-duration playback and network interruption/recovery testing

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
