QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer who is strong in manual testing and interested in building hands-on automation skills. You will work across functional testing, API testing, Playwright automation, and performance testing using JMeter.

You’ll work closely with the Senior QA Automation Engineer to ensure product quality across every release and help improve the team's test automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases using appropriate test design techniques.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct API testing using Postman, including collections, environments, scripts, authentication, and HTTP validation.
• Develop and maintain UI and API automation tests using Playwright.
• Create, execute, maintain, and extend performance/load testing scripts using JMeter.
• Validate asynchronous workflows by tracing events across queues, databases, and application logs.
• Perform database validation using SQL.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps.
• Collaborate with developers and other QA engineers to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and overall QA processes.

Required Skills

Must Have:

• 2–4 years of QA/testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing.
• Good understanding of STLC/SDLC and test design techniques such as:
• Boundary Value Analysis
• Equivalence Partitioning
• Decision Tables
• State Transition Testing
• Hands-on experience with API Testing using Postman.
• Familiarity with Playwright – locators, assertions, auto-waiting, and basic fixtures.
• Familiarity with JMeter – thread groups, samplers, listeners, and basic correlation.
• Hands-on SQL knowledge for test data and database validation.
• Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.
• Understanding of modern QA concepts such as test pyramid, shift-left testing, risk-based testing, eventual consistency, idempotency, and latency.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of microservices and asynchronous systems, including queues, retries, and Dead Letter Queues (DLQ).
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Jenkins.
• Basic understanding of OWASP Top 10 and exposure to Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP.
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools.
• Understanding of contract testing concepts.
• Accessibility testing knowledge, including axe checks, keyboard navigation, and WCAG basics.
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting flaky tests.
• ISTQB Foundation certification.
