QA Automation Engineer

Summary

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join in our team: a small, cross-functional quality team embedded with a development squad. You will be the specialist for building reliable automated checks that accelerate feedback and protect critical business journeys across releases. You will work alongside the QA Lead, Functional Testers, API Testers, Mobile Testers, and Performance Testers, turning suitable regression scenarios into maintainable automation and integrating quality checks into the delivery pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Assess test cases for automation suitability, priority, risk, repeatability, and return on effort.
• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks, coding standards, reusable components, and test data approaches.
• Define automation scope and coverage with the QA Lead and Functional Testers.
• Develop, review, debug, and maintain automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent.
• Build reusable page objects, utilities, fixtures, and reporting components.
• Execute automated smoke and regression suites across supported browsers and environments.
• Investigate failures and distinguish application defects from script, data, or environment issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Configure test execution, reporting, evidence capture, retries, and failure notifications.
• Track automation coverage, pass rates, flaky tests, execution time, and maintenance backlog.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of software testing experience, with at least 2 years focused on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation tool such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience with source control, branching, pull requests, and code review using Git.
• Working knowledge of web technologies, locators, HTTP/HTTPS, APIs, and SQL.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with API automation using REST Assured, Postman/Newman, Playwright, or similar.
• Exposure to mobile automation using Appium or equivalent.
• Knowledge of containerized execution using Docker and cloud-based test platforms
• Experience with parallel execution, cross-browser testing, and test reporting tools.
• ISTQB Test Automation Engineer or related certification.
