About 7 Kings Code
7 Kings Code is a US-based IT staffing and software solutions company committed to delivering high-quality technology solutions to clients. We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on QA Automation Lead to strengthen our quality assurance capabilities and drive reliable, scalable, and efficient testing practices across our software projects.
Position Overview
The QA Automation Lead will be responsible for defining and executing the test automation strategy, designing scalable automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality software releases across web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, practical automation experience, and leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, QA engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to improve test coverage, reduce repetitive manual testing, identify defects early, and establish quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and enterprise software.
- Define and implement the QA automation strategy, including framework selection, automation scope, test coverage, and execution standards.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.
- Implement API automation and validation using Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
- Establish and maintain automated smoke, functional, regression, and end-to-end test suites.
- Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to review requirements, identify test scenarios, and define acceptance criteria.
- Lead defect identification, reporting, triage, root cause analysis, and verification of fixes.
- Monitor test execution results, troubleshoot automation failures, and minimize flaky tests and false positives.
- Establish automation coding standards, reusable components, test reporting mechanisms, and documentation practices.
- Mentor QA engineers, conduct automation code reviews, and provide technical guidance on scripting, debugging, framework design, and testing best practices.
- Evaluate automation tools and methodologies to improve efficiency, maintainability, reliability, and test coverage.
- Support performance, reliability, accessibility, and cross-browser testing initiatives where required.
- Provide regular updates on automation coverage, defect trends, test execution results, and release readiness.
- Ensure testing activities align with project timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.
- At least 3 years of hands-on QA automation experience, with demonstrated ownership of automation initiatives or experience mentoring QA engineers.
- Strong practical experience with at least one major automation framework, such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python.
- Experience designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on experience with API testing and automated API validation.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Git and version control practices.
- Experience with SQL and database validation.
- Familiarity with defect-tracking tools such as Jira or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to analyze test failures, identify root causes, and distinguish application defects from automation issues.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with both Playwright and Selenium or other complementary automation frameworks.
- Exposure to Sitecore CMS or other enterprise content management systems.
- Experience testing ERP, CRM, or complex enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing, cross-browser compatibility, Docker, and cloud-based test execution platforms.
- Experience with test reporting tools such as Allure Reports.
- Knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and automation optimization.
- ISTQB or relevant test automation certifications.
- Experience working with US-based clients or distributed international teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a proactive, analytical, and quality-focused professional who can take ownership of automation initiatives while remaining hands-on with technical implementation.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Technical Leadership: Ability to establish automation standards, make framework decisions, and guide testing practices.
- Strong Technical Expertise: Ability to develop maintainable, reusable, and reliable automated test suites.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Team Mentorship: Ability to coach QA engineers, review automation code, and strengthen team capabilities.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Accountability: Ownership of automation coverage, test reliability, defect reporting, and quality outcomes.
