QA Automation Tester (Remote)

About the Role:

Jobstoday.world is seeking an experienced QA Automation Tester based in India to join our remote team.

• The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance , with strong hands-on expertise in test automation, automation framework development, API testing, regression testing, and CI/CD integration.
• This is a hands-on technical role requiring the ability to design, develop, execute, debug, and maintain automated test suites independently. The successful candidate will help improve test coverage, build reusable automation components, identify root causes of test failures, and ensure the reliability and quality of software releases.
• Candidates must be able to work consistently from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CET, Monday through Saturday , with corresponding local-time adjustments during daylight saving periods.

Contract Engagement and Payment Terms:

• This position is offered on a contract basis and is not a traditional salaried employment role .
• Compensation is based strictly on the actual hours worked, in accordance with the agreed contractual terms.
• Candidates must understand and acknowledge that payment is made only for hours worked, rather than a fixed monthly salary independent of working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications.
• Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable automation components, utilities, and test libraries.
• Perform automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute API tests to validate REST endpoints, HTTP status codes, request and response payloads, authentication, headers, and negative test scenarios.
• Identify suitable test cases for automation and continuously improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
• Write automation code using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or an equivalent programming language.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent tools.
• Analyze test execution results, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and resolve issues related to flaky tests, synchronization, test data, and application behavior.
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and supporting evidence.
• Collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to investigate defects, validate fixes, and prevent regression issues.
• Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, and release validation.
• Use Git or equivalent version control systems to manage automation code and collaborate on changes.
• Maintain test documentation, test data, execution reports, and automation framework guidelines.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, automation standards, test reliability, and overall software quality.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in software QA/testing, with substantial hands-on experience in automation testing.
• Practical experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major automation framework, such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or an equivalent tool.
• Programming or scripting proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or an equivalent language.
