Automation Test Engineer (Playwright)

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Automation Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Playwright to join our QA team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust end-to-end test automation frameworks that ensure the quality and reliability of our web applications.

Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript and JavaScript - Build and enhance scalable, reusable automation frameworks from scratch or existing codebases - Perform functional, regression, smoke, and cross-browser testing across desktop and mobile viewports - Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend verification - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) - Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test strategy - Identify, log, and track defects; work closely with the dev team on triage and resolution - Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to improving overall QA processes and best practices - Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and release readiness reviews Required Skills: - 512 years of experience in software testing, with at least 3+ years in test automation - Strong proficiency in Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) - Solid understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals - Experience with SQL for database validation - Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control (Git) - Experience with API testing (REST Assured, Postman, or Playwright API testing) - Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Good communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with additional tools like Cypress, Selenium, or TestNG - Exposure to performance testing (JMeter, k6) - ISTQB certification
