QA Chemist

SAC Berhad is a publicly listed company and an established leader in the paint manufacturing industry. As we continue to expand our footprint across regions in Malaysia, we are seeking a meticulous and proactive QA Chemist to join our Quality Assurance team at our Desa Cemerlang facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor all laboratory activities to ensure procedures are carried out within established standards
• Improve product quality and carry out investigations on non-conforming products, customer complaints, and MRBs
• Perform QC lab testing for process control, colour matching, raw materials, and pre-QC within standards
• Conduct stability monitoring for new products, colourants, and retain samples
• Ensure all reporting and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule
• Safeguard and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System — establish, implement, and maintain QMS processes, report to Top Management on QMS performance and improvement needs, and liaise with external parties on QMS-related matters
• Scheduled Waste — ensure compliance with DOE requirements for scheduled waste generation and disposal
• Supervise and guide subordinates (Lab Technician/QA Inspector) in daily QC activities
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate superior

Who Are We Looking For

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in paint production or industrial coatings
• Working knowledge of MS Office and DataColor
• Familiar with problem-solving methods and measurement tools/equipment
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Prior exposure to ISO 9001 QMS implementation is an advantage
