QA Engineer

QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of web, mobile, and backend applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in functional, regression, API, integration, database, and end-to-end testing, along with hands-on exposure to test automation and modern QA practices. The role will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Experience in fintech, banking, payments, lending, or transaction-heavy platforms will be a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional & End-to-End Testing

• Design and execute comprehensive functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Translate business and technical requirements into structured test cases and acceptance criteria.
• Validate positive, negative, boundary, exception, and edge-case scenarios.
• Identify, document, prioritize, track, and retest defects through resolution.
• Perform exploratory and risk-based testing for complex product journeys.

2. API, Database & Integration Testing

• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Newman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent.
• Validate request/response structures, authentication, authorization, error handling, idempotency, and API contracts.
• Test complex integrations between internal systems and third-party services.
• Perform database validation and data integrity testing using SQL/NoSQL queries.
• Validate asynchronous workflows, webhooks, queues, retries, and transaction states where applicable.

3. Web & Mobile Testing

• Test web applications across supported browsers, screen sizes, and environments.
• Test Android and iOS applications across different devices and OS versions.
• Validate UI/UX, responsiveness, compatibility, deep links, permissions, notifications, network interruptions, and application lifecycle scenarios.
• Support release validation and production verification across web and mobile platforms.

4. Test Automation & Continuous Testing

• Build and maintain automated test suites using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Maestro, or equivalent.
• Automate critical regression, API, and end-to-end business journeys.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.
• Improve automation coverage while keeping test suites stable, reusable, and maintainable.
• Work with developers to promote shift-left testing and identify defects earlier in the development lifecycle.

5. Performance, Security & Reliability

• Perform basic load, stress, and performance testing using tools such as JMeter, k6, or equivalent.
• Validate application behavior under concurrency, high transaction volumes, network failures, and service disruptions.
• Understand common application and API security risks, including OWASP principles, authentication, authorization, and sensitive data exposure.
• Validate logging, audit trails, error handling, retries, and recovery scenarios for critical workflows.

6. AI-Enabled Quality Engineering

• Use modern AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or AI-enabled testing platforms to accelerate test design, automation, debugging, and defect analysis.
• Leverage AI to generate and improve test scenarios, edge cases, automation scripts, test data, and regression coverage.
• Use AI-assisted analysis to identify missing test cases and potential failure scenarios.
• Apply AI responsibly while maintaining human validation, data security, and QA standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, QA methodologies, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Strong experience with functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience with Postman and API testing.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or Maestro.
• Understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and backend data validation.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern development workflows.
• Understanding of performance testing, security testing, and application observability.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and data integrity issues.
• Ability to work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience testing web, mobile, APIs, databases, and system integrations.
• Practical experience with test automation and maintaining automated regression suites is preferred.
• Experience testing production-grade applications and participating in release cycles.
• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, lending, digital wallets, e-commerce, or transaction-heavy platforms will be a strong advantage.
• Experience testing KYC/KYB, payment flows, financial transactions, reconciliation, ledgers, repayments, or third-party financial integrations will be considered a plus.
