Qa Engineer

About the Role
We're looking for a QA Engineer with hands-on automation experience to help us deliver high-quality, reliable software. You'll design and maintain automated test suites, work closely with developers and product owners in an Agile environment, and play a key role in keeping quality high across every release.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Selenium and Playwright.
• Build and enhance BDD test frameworks using Cucumber, writing clear, reusable feature files and step definitions.
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing across sprints.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using tools like Jira, and work with developers to resolve them.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain test documentation, reports, and quality metrics.

Must-Have Skills

• 23 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Python or Java.
• Practical experience with the Cucumber BDD framework (Gherkin syntax, feature files, step definitions).
• Working knowledge of Playwright for modern web automation.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with version control (Git) and test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, or PyTest.
• Good understanding of locator strategies, waits, and Page Object Model (POM) design.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Basic knowledge of security testing concepts (OWASP Top 10) and tools like OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
• API testing experience using Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization (Docker).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• ISTQB certification is a plus.
