WHO WE ARE

Minimal Viable Launch takes founders with extraordinary knowledge and levels them up into AI tech founders. We take a non-technical founder's expertise, the IP locked in their head, their frameworks, their methodology, and turn it into a scaleable, sellable AI-powered product that transforms their business.

We are a small remote-first team, based in the UK and known as the Applied AI company. We read the research, translate it, and help founders understand what is actually possible right now.

THE ROLE

Right now, quality at MVL is everyone's job, which in practice means it is nobody's. We want one person who owns the quality bar across every project and makes sure nothing ships that should not.

You will test web apps, APIs and the AI features inside them, across several client projects at once. Careful exploratory testing, automation that stops the same bug coming back, and AI feature testing, which most QA engineers have not touched yet.

WHAT YOU OWN FROM DAY ONE

• Exploratory and regression testing on every active project, against the acceptance criteria on each build card
• Automated end-to-end suites in Playwright or Cypress, wired into CI
• API and integration testing across Supabase, Xano and third-party APIs
• Evaluation sets for AI features: consistency, accuracy, refusals and prompt injection
• Bug reports a developer can fix in one pass
• The release gate: you can say "not ready" and explain why

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A tester's instinct beyond the happy path
• Real E2E automation you can show us (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar)
• API testing experience
• Clear written English. Most of our communication is written and async
• AI fluency, or the hunger to get there fast
• English speaking

We do not care about your degree, certifications or years-of-experience count. We care what you have found, what you have automated, and how fast you learn.

HOW WE WORK

Around 40 hours a week, async by default. Two team calls a week, usually late afternoon your time, including our weekly critique meeting and/or a weekly QA discussion. Either side can end the engagement immediately, in writing.

• Paid trial: around 3 hours, recorded with your camera on. We pay US$75, via Wise, whatever the outcome

BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF FIRST

• We have no project managers. You own the momentum of your own work.
• You are the only QA, at first. No QA team, no QA lead to ask.
• You will tell people their work is not ready. Often.
• The rest of the team works UK hours, so most answers come in writing, some hours later. You keep moving while you wait.
• Every role here involves AI tools daily.
• High standards, real accountability, and direct feedback in both directions.
