Job Description

Excellon Software is looking for an experienced QA Engineer Manual Testing with 3-6 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, designing and executing test scenarios, identifying defects, and ensuring the quality and reliability of web and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Integration, System, and End-to-End testing.
• Perform exploratory and negative testing to identify functional and usability issues.
• Validate application workflows across different modules and business scenarios.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as Jira/Azure DevOps.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing after fixes.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Perform database validation using SQL queries where required.
• Validate data flow and integration between different applications/services.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide testing estimates and risk/impact analysis.
• Perform UAT and production smoke testing when required.
• Prepare test execution status, defect reports, and release-quality updates.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, and testing efficiency.
• Identify repetitive test scenarios that can be considered for automation.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Manual/Functional Testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Good knowledge of test case design and test execution.
• Strong experience in Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Integration, and End-to-End testing.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-management tools.
• Good understanding of Defect Life Cycle.
• Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience in web application and mobile application testing.
• Exposure to Selenium or Playwright automation.
• Basic knowledge of Java.Role & responsibilities
